How We Learn 

Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to learning, and if you can find good teacher, then he or she will help you to find yours. The Lets Start From Scratch course is aimed at helping you find yours. It is constructed around building vocabulary and useful phrases, but also it aims to help you understand why things are... the way they are. 

If you can recognise signs, visual clues and gestures, then learning becomes much easier. Hence in the course, we look at what is happening in Spain today, so that we can understand a little of the ABUNDANT clues that surround us each day as we go about town. We take a look at Spanish Culture, history and even dabble a little in politics...all very basic stuff  - 2 minute versions - but enough for us all to have a grasp of what this country is all about.

This grasp is fundamental. For it enables you to see and understand, to listen and understand, to speak and to understand.

Practice for Local Students

But we do not just focus on ideas. The course is also built around encouraging you to participate, because it is only through trying things out, that you can practice the skills you need to develop. So you will be practicing in class, you will be practicing at home and you will be practicing out on the street too.

Practice for Online students

Practice consists of exercises during the week that will familiarise you with aspects of Spain ansd Spanish Culture: Listening to specific Podcasts, watching certain videos, engaging in a forum discussion or reading particular blog posts.

Most of the materials for the course will appear on this web site, so remember to come back often. We do not use traditional text books for learning, these exclude too much important material for us. Also, we do not want to focus just on the written word. Spanish is ALIVE.

Our approach is more flexible, adapting to the needs of those enrolled on the course. Its is interactive. It starts here and now, by you next reading over the COURSE OUTLINE and then, when you are ready, getting in touch.
